We’re back on the Humane Society of the Black Hills’ lawn for the 4th Annual K9-3K and Dog Carnival! Bring your friends, family, kiddos, and canines and have some fun in the sun to benefit local animals who need us. This year, we have some brand new, exciting additions – including the kickoff celebration of our summer-long miles pledge challenge, the Paws-a-thon!
Itinerary:
9:30am: Check-in begins
10:00am: K9-3K begins – get a 3k run or a leisurely walk in solo or with your canine companion!
– $10 per dog, humans may participate for free
– Summer “Paws-a-thon” kickoff celebration
– Come in costume! Prizes awarded during the carnival
11:00am: Carnival begins!
– Canine trick contests – prizes awarded for Waggiest Tail, Biggest Smile, and Best Trick
– Costume contests – prizes awarded for Best Group Costume, Best Doggy/Owner Lookalike, and Best Dressed Canine
– Low-cost pet microchipping – $20 per pet, proof of ownership required
– Popcicle and “pup”cicle stand
– Canine agility course and doggie pools
– Pie an Animal Control Officer or friend in the face
– 50/50 raffle
