Roald Dahl’s Matilda is directed by Ryan Puffer based on original direction by Kory Yamada. Puffer,
who has directed Lend Me a Tenor and Assistant Directed Urinetown at BHCT, says of the show, “I am
beyond excited not only that we are FINALLY performing Matilda, but especially to be stepping in as
director. It was heartbreaking to see this show not get to Opening Night the last time around, so it has
been absolutely invigorating being in the rehearsal room again. Everyone has been working so hard
and their joy in creating this show is electric.” The cast of local actors is led by Penelope Stevens as
Matilda, Dave DeChristopher as Miss Trunchbull, Tessa Braddy as Miss Honey, Jason Knox as Mr.
Wormwood, Sarah Morrison as Mrs. Wormwood and Asher Wilkening as Michael Wormwood.
Matilda’s Classmates are played by Jack Stevens, Delaney White, Vienna Waby, Parker Reid Knox,
Henry Olivier, Catherine Haugo, Jonas Heilman and Emory Parrish. Playing the rest of the adults in
Matilda’s world is an adult ensemble consisting of Emily Heilman, Jill Westbrook Haugo, Meghan
Knowles, Jonasia Nance and Tom Powers. Other students at the school are played by Caroline Haugo,
Deirdre Martin, Elora Randle, Benae Reuppel, Abby Stevens, Poppy Stevens, Evie White and Isla
Woodruff. Based on CDC guidelines, masks are currently encouraged but not required at events,
