Jake Owen Reveals Gender of Baby on the Way During Intimate NYC Show

It’s (another) girl! Jake Owen revealed that he is expecting a baby girl with his girlfriend Erica Hartlein just days after revealing they have their first child together on the way. The country star made the exciting gender reveal during his exclusive show in New York City.
During a special Q&A portion of his exclusive show, host by Amy Brown from The Bobby Bones Show asked Owen about the baby, and he divulged that they had just found out that it’s a girl! He told the fans in the crowd and everyone watching from home, “I’m good at making girls.” The Vero Beach native also has a six-year-old, Olive Pearl, with ex-wife Lacey Buchanan.
Jake recently finished up his “Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour,” which took him to a number of baseball stadiums in cities across the country this year. But, the country star recently got intimate during an exclusive show in New York City. During iHeartCountry LIVE with Jake Owen Presented by Marathon, Jake performed a few fan favorites, including “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “American Country Love Song,” as well as all the new songs he released this year like the John Mellencamp-inspired “I Was Jack (You Were Diane),” “Down To The Honkytonk,” and “Made For You.”

Jake also opened up about all of his upcoming projects, including his forthcoming album, which he’s been working on with producer Joey Moi (who produced his Barefoot Blue Jean Night album). He explained of the new LP:
“I’m back working with my buddy Joey Moi who produced the Barefoot Blue Jean Night album, which once we had that number one, I had four in a row off that album. So, it was a big deal for me. Then, I took a sabbatical, we both kind of got busy, started working with someone else, and now we’re back together working. Our first song we released together was “I Was Jack (You Were Diane).” That went number one. So every song that I’ve done with Joey has pretty much gone to the top of the charts. This new record we are really focusing on great songs, and songs that mean a lot to me; songs that represent where my heart is and mind is at this point in my life. I think that’s a beautiful part about music. And as you grow, you have to understand yourself and what people see you as, and also what you want them to know. And, there’s a lot going on in the world; a lot to talk about. I’m excited for a bunch of random different songs to kind of represent all of that.”
One of Jake’s most recently released songs, “Made For You,” was first debuted on the Bobby Bones Show. During his NYC performance, Owen said of the track:
“It’s a song that really hit me the first time I heard it. I didn’t write this song, and there are those songs that when you hear them and you wish you did [write them]. This is one that I wish I’d written because I feel like it really represents everything that I’ve lived throughout my life and how I feel now, and having a child with my girlfriend, and after being divorced before, I thought maybe I would never find love again or maybe my mind wouldn’t let me because I’m a male, and I’m just strong minded, and she kind of surprised me. And now I’ve realized watching my mother and father, they’ve been married for 40 years, and they look like they’re made for each other. I feel like people are made for each other, it’s about finding the right person.”
