A raccoon captured the nation’s attention by climbing 20 stories up the side of the UBS skyscraper in St. Paul, Minnesota. The little creature deemed “MPR Raccoon” because of Minnesota Public Radio covering the high-altitude drama.
People from inside the building were tweeting photos of the MPR raccoon when it would take resting breaks on the ledges, or scale the building next to their window.
He is on the ledge on our floor. He seems to be doing well. We’ve been told that the building has live traps on the roof and are trying to get him to go up there. We all just have to keep our fingers crossed.. #mprraccoon pic.twitter.com/HY1PkuFKz0

After a 2 day stint of climbing upwards, downwards and sideways to find an out, the wildlife creature finally made his way to the roof where wildlife experts had a trap waiting with cat food.

The raccoon successfully was caught and then released by Wildlife Management Services.

Now the little creature, most likely a female, is headed back into the wild where it belongs and not working a little too hard to scale a skyscraper. And if you were anxiously watching with the rest of the world, you can now sleep soundly knowing that this little raccoon made it out alive and healthy!
