The HOPE Center will host an Open House on October 12th, 2017 from 4-6pm, prior to its “Rocking for HOPE” Fall Fundraiser event at the Dahl Arts Center at 6:00pm on the same day. We will be sharing information about the Center’s services that help people who live in poverty and without homes in the Rapid City area. Tours of the Center will be provided upon request.

After the Open House, The HOPE Center will hold its third annual fundraising event, “Rocking for HOPE,” on Thursday, October 12th, from 6-8pm at The Dahl Arts Center. There will be delightful hors d’oeuvres by Catered Two Productions, music, a cash bar, program and a live auction featuring 18 uniquely painted rocking chairs/horses painted by HOPE Center guests. The HOPE Center is a drop-in day center that provides a warm, safe environment to individuals living in poverty and without homes. The center offers basic day services to our guests, including mailing center for individuals who do not have a permanent or stable address (currently 2,604 individuals use this service). We also provide a telephone/message center for those without access to a phone, a storage center for personal belongings and important documents, a free laundry, various life skills classes, and advocacy services and referrals to partner agencies that reduce the impact of the crisis of poverty. Our primary objective is to establish relationships with our guests so that we become a trusted source of support for them. It is through theses relationships that we present lifestyle alternatives and a way out of poverty.
