That’s How We Roll 6 – Skateboard Art Show and Auction
The Rapid City Arts Council is proud to present That’s How We Roll 6 – Skateboard Art Show and Auction on Saturday, September 30 at the Dahl Arts Center from 6:30 – 9pm. This is the sixth installment of our hugely popular, annual counter-culture show that raises money for the RCAC’s youth arts programs.
Skateboard culture has always been steeped heavily in creativity, from the physical art in mastery of movement, to the look and aesthetic of the riders and the boards themselves. Skateboarding is art made accessible.
The RCAC secured 60 blank skateboard decks, which have been transformed by local artists into one-off works of art. The decks will be on display during THWR6, culminating in a silent auction the evening of the event. Our emcee for the night will be Crissy Davies, and DJ Rehst will be on hand to provide some of the finest beats found in the Black Hills. We will also be featuring an incredible dance performance by Fernando Bettelyoun and Richard Peters.
Opening bids for each skateboard will start at $35 the night of the event. A People’s Choice award will be given to the deck that receives the most votes from event attendees.
