‘Dog’s Most Wanted’ Trailer Show’s Beth Chapman’s Battle With Cancer

Beth Chapman fought cancer until her very last breath.
Over the weekend, WGN America released the trailer for the late reality star and her husband Dog the Bounty Hunter‘s upcoming reality series Dog’s Most Wanted, which shows Beth, who passed away June 26 after battling throat cancer, discussing her fight with the deadly disease. “Once you find out it’s an incurable lung cancer, there’s no stage five,” she says in the clip, before adding, “If I’m going to die, I’m going to die in my boots.” The 30-second trailer also shows Dog breaking down in tears as he professes his love for his wife. “I love her and I’ll do anything for her,” he said.
Beth revealed she had stage two throat cancer back in September 2017. Dog previously told Entertainment Tonightthat his wife used bounty hunting as therapy even while her health declined. “I needed therapy and the therapy she used when she was sick was to hunt,” he explained. “Her therapy, you know, was hunting, bounty hunting, catching the bad guy.”
All of which explains why the couple continued to film their show during Beth’s cancer battle. “My wife is, was, and always will be the heart and soul of Dog’s Most Wanted,” Dog said in a statement. “Beth wanted nothing more than for the show to go on, and I am so proud of the legacy that she left behind. She lived and died for this show, and she would be so proud of how hard we worked bringing these criminals to justice.”

Dog said his final goodbye to his life partner during her second and last memorial service in Aurora, Colorado earlier this month. “I cannot believe that she’s gone,” he said on stage during his nearly 30-minute remarks, per People. “This is not possible, I want to wake up from a dream.” He added, “In the ’70s, I did 18 months in the Texas penitentiary and I told God yesterday I’d do five years, ten years day to day just to kiss her again. I never felt like this.”
“She’d gotten sick, they told her she got cancer. They said she could do chemo though, they said she would have to sit at home while Dog films the show. The show did not kill her but she died for it,” Dog explained of his wife’s final days. “She said, ‘Do you think I’m going to let you go out by yourself and film?’ ‘You’re out of your mind.’ I said, ‘Honey you might have to do chemo and stuff.’ ”
“She goes, ‘All it’ll do is keep me alive six months longer and I’m not going to do that because I want to be by your side.’ ” he recalled. “She would tell these guys on the show, ‘You’re trying to die doing these drugs and I’m trying to live.’ Those guys started bawling and crying.’ ”
Dog’s Most Wanted premieres Wednesday, September 4 at 9 p.m. ET on WGN America.
