Amy’s Pile: Animal Shelter Encourages Area 51 Fans To “Storm Our Shelter”

An animal shelter in Oklahoma is encouraging people following the joke Area 51 raid in September to “bring along a furry friend”. Dogs at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter are wearing tin foil hats to “protect you from aliens!” According to their website, the shelter has 150 dogs, 54 cats, two pigs and one hamster available for adoption.
The Area 51 raid started off as a joke and quickly gained a lot of eyeballs with people sharing the message on social media. The animal shelter is hoping to piggyback off the fun the get people to notice they animals in need!
